For monitoring the salt content and disinfection of circulating water in room air-conditioning systems.
In room air-conditioning systems (e.g. air-scrubbers), the circulating water also places special demands on the water treatment, in addition to the resupply water *. This usually neglected area often results in incrustations and corrosion, and sludge accumulation and microbial contamination of the system. Besides incorrect pre-treatment, the causes include the increased salt concentration in the circulating water due to accumulation of salts resulting from evaporation. This promotes corrosion and deposits in pipes and installations. Solid particles accumulate in the circuit. This good breeding ground, coupled with temperatures conducive to germs means that they multiply rapidly, creating sludge in the air-scrubber. This increases the risk of infection from such things as Legionnaires’ Disease, which can be spread throughout the air system by the air-conditioning system.
The above problems lead to expensive repair and maintenance work.Microbial contamination of the system can only be combated by the extensive use of disinfection agents.
